As a first time homeowner who has only lived in Apartments, I know basically NOTHING about houses. Sheldon and his team (Sheldon JR) made me i feel confident and knowledgeable about all the components of the house. The collective knowledge they both had about everything from plumbing, roofing, HVAC systems to masonry and more was wonderful. They explained things in the simplest terms, used great examples and didn't make me feel unintelligent for not knowing or understanding something. We did 1 full home inspections (basement to attic) with them and they were extremely thorough, provided excellent documentation, pictures and reports and very were also straightforward about the houses. They were all very personable and hilarious, turning something I had been dreading for weeks, into a great learning experience and an entertaining night out.

I think Sheldon did an absolutely superb job of inspecting my potential new home. Sheldon took his time to explain in great detail what he was going to inspect and why. All doing the inspection Sheldon asked me if I had any questions. When I asked any questions, he explained it to me where I could understand. He gave me great safety suggestions as we circumvented the house from the outside as well as inside the home. One suggestion, due to the incline of the hill in my driveway, I should always place a choke behind the wheel of my car to prevent damage to the transmission over time.

Sheldon went far above and beyond what is required of a home inspector. He carefully went through everything he found with me, not just saying that it needed to be fixed, but explaining why and how it should be repaired. He went into detail with everything, even explaining what type of spackle should be used for cosmetic ceiling cracks and wall cracks. He also made numerous very helpful recommendations beyond what was required of the inspection - for example, recommending I use double hung windows when replacing the current windows so that I would be able clean the outside easily (the unit was on the 6th floor). I would recommend Sheldon to anyone without hesitation.
