We are new to Asheville and needed to find a home inspector for our newly built townhouse before closing. We could not be more pleased to have found Jon. First, he actually read the details of our request and took the time to understand our needs. He was totally accommodating to our schedule. We were flying in late one night and out the next night for a walk through so he did his inspection the day before and them came to meet us the next day arriving early. He is also very articulate and able to communicate complex matters in a understandable way. This being new construction we didn't expect him to find too much but he did find some important things. He was very thorough even including climbing up on the roof although with a townhouse condominium the roof is not our responsibility. Some examples: a) He discovered a 3 way switch on a hallway was wired improperly, b) he itemized little missing items like a window opening bracket, c) he identified another window opening bracket that was not quite solidly in place, d) he identified that some screens for the unit stacked in the garage didn't fit the windows we had (who would have thought to look at that!), and e) he discovered the two half baths had no independent heat source (which still baffles us). And there was much more. Again, not really big items but still, with a new house it's best to start out right. And then there's his demeanor. He's so friendly and patient. He was willing to spend as much time as we needed. All in all, we could not be happier with the experience. If you need a home inspection (and you do, new house or not), both my wife and I heartily recommend Jon.

We were very pleased with his performance! Jonathan was very professional throughout the process. We discovered him when he inspected the home we were selling. The report was very thorough and my husband and I agreed we'd like him to inspect a house for us. He did a great job, again, very thorough and helped us see some things we'd missed. At the end of the inspection before he left he showed us pictures of the areas he'd found and talked us through them. I really appreciated that. My husband has a background in home construction and repair but he explained things so I could understand as well. It was really nice that we didn't have to wait for his printed report to know the issues we were facing. When the printed report came it was very detailed including pictures and printed explanations of the issues. One thing I liked the most were the attached pictures of how certain things would have been properly installed. It was great to see a picture and then completely understand what he had explained earlier, but I didn't completely visualize what he meant. Jon did a great, thorough, and honest job with our home inspection. We're first-time home buyers, so it was very nice to have peace of mind provided by Jon throughout the process. He pointed out smaller details that I feel others may have missed along the way. On the day of inspection the roof was covered in snow, which allowed minimal visibility for defects - but nonetheless one was spotted. Jon went back a few days later to check out the electrical junction box (due to blockage on day of inspection) and also went back onto the roof to check it out in its entirety.
