I found Chris to be very thorough in his inspection, and he was able to clearly communicate what he was seeing with the house. He took a large number of photos, and walked us through those photos, as well as physically showing us many of the things he identified. All in all, it was a very positive experience for us, and we would not hesitate to use Chris again if the need arises.

Let me start by saying that i would consider myself a meticulous person, which i know my wife would say that this would be a major understatement. So finding, and trusting, a home inspector is very difficult for me. We are new to Austin, so we decided to utilize Chris DeBord's services by referral, and we are so happy we did! Here is why.. Chris was present at our appointment when i arrived, which was about 10 minutes beforehand. Chris was extremely approachable during our introductions and proceeded to tell me exactly how he approaches his home inspection, which gave me a great blueprint for how our time together was going to look. Chris then offered to explain anything and everything is as much, or as little, detail as i would like. After about my 50th question, followed by great response after great response, i knew i could trust this guy. Being that i am a new Texas resident, i had a lot of questions about the foundation, soil conditions, air conditioning, etc. Chris was an encyclopedia of knowledge and was extremely thorough in his explanations, but worded them in a way that was easy to follow. During our time together i even learned a little bit about his background in that he served in the military, as a paramedic, firefighter, and now as a home inspector.. jack of all trades. Chris is also a licensed termite/pest inspector which was super convenient and allowed me to get even more information right away. Our inspection lasted about 4 hours, and afterwards we met my family outside (who were not present for the inspection). Chris then gave my wife a brief summary of the inspection and offered to answer any of her questions as well. After that we ended up just talking for another 15-20 minutes about Texas, family, food, you name it! Such a hospitable guy. Later that evening after I received and read Chris's report, i ended up calling him and asking him even more questions. Chris and his wife, (who is also an inspector), were more than happy to answer all of my questions, which really put my mind at ease! Chris makes himself available even after he is paid and his reports are completed. If/when i need another home inspection I will be utilizing Chris DeBord again!
